Starfish Sonar Series
Using the latest high-speed programmable logic technology and USB interfaces, the Starfish range has been cost-engineered and designed for recreational users, such as scuba divers and fisherman, as well as professional markets where the users have limited-budgets and minimal sonar experience, such as archaeologists, marine-biologists and civil-engineers.
The small electronics surface-module connects to any Windows based PC via a high-speed USB link, and the towed transducer assembly is moulded in a high density durable polyurethane rubber, on the end of a 20m Kevlar reinforced cable.
Complimenting the hardware, the software was also developed with simplicity in mind, creating an intuitive interface that everyone from less experienced users to professionals can use with minimal training and support. Extensive use is made of ‘wizards’ and large graphical buttons, as well as built-in online help and tutorial documentation. An off-the-shelf installer package was selected that provides deployment of the software and new-releases through an install-CD, the product website, and scheduled notification on the operating system and RSS news-feeds.
Throughout the development of this range, Blueprint has been heavily involved with Tritech, in the design of the hardware, software, branding, supporting graphics and design of marketing material, product documentation and end-user support.
