Welcome

Welcome to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, located in the scenic Leven Valley at the southern end of Windermere.

The railway runs for 3 1/2 miles from Haverthwaite Station, along the banks of the River Leven, to Lakeside Station where passengers can alight and board one of the 'steamer' services cruising to Bowness and Ambleside or visit the Lakes Aquarium.

As we steam into our 40th season, we hope that you can join us and enjoy all that the railway has to offer.


The Jubilee Woodland Adventure Playground Now Open!

In the beautiful woodland surroundings and with a platform view, children of all ages can enjoy this fantastic new park & picnic area, while adults can relax under the leafy canopy.
